Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
Eid-themed decorations (optional)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Carefully pour the boiling water into the batter and mix until smooth. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top of one cake layer. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
- Decorate the cake with Eid-themed decorations if desired. You can use fondant shapes, edible glitter, or chocolate shavings to add a festive touch.
- Slice and serve your Eid Special Chocolate Cake with joy and celebration!
